December

Rick's poem "November Father" is published by The Pedestal Magazine.

Rick's review of Richard Siken's Crush, "Notes From the Torn-Up Road," is published by Gently Read Literature.

Rick attends the Palm Desert December residency at the Parker Resort in Palm Springs.

November

Rick's poem "Heart Pounded  When" is included in Paradigm Vol. 2, a collection of Paradigm Literary Journal's year's best in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, published by Rain Farm Press and edited by best-selling novelist, Steve Alten, MEG.

Rick's review of Eileen Myles' Sorry Tree, "American Pine," is published by Cold Front Mag.

Rick's poem "How to Potty Train Boys" is published  by Barnwood International Poetry.

Rick's poems "First Move" and "How to Potty Train Boys" are published by Supersition Review.

Rick gives a reading at the Frank House on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

October

Rick's poem "Vasectomy" is published by the poetry journal, Amarillo Bay.

Rick's poems "Coffee at Midnight or a Bittery Nursery Rhyme," "Gift For the Giver (For Don Welch)," "Two Men Walking out of the Donut Shop," "No Gum in School," "At the Stop Sign," and "Over Sandwiches" are published by Blue House Poetry Journal.

Rick gives a reading to kick off the Reynolds Series Performances on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, opening for Arthur Sze.

September

Rick's poem "No Gum in School" is published by the literary journal, Words-Myth

Rick is Featured Poet in the fall issue of Words-Myth.

Rick gives a reading at Bookends in Kearney, NE as part of the Uptown Literary Arts festival.

August

Rick's poems, "Santa Monica Pier," "Midnight Hotel," and "Anniversay"  are published  by Future Earth Magazine.

Rick's poem, "Bathroom" is published  by Earthshine Poetry Journal.

Rick's poems "Sausage and Eggs (For Dad)," "Heart Pounded When," and "Spring Awakening" are published in both the online and print version of SN Review.

July

May

Rick's screenplay Insecurity is accepted for MA Thesis completion from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Rick's poem "Nebraska Morning" is published  by The Bumbershoot Annual.

Rick's poems "For Grandmother," "Mother and Babe," and "Sausage and Eggs (For Dad) are published by Trillium Literary Journal.

Rick is the winner of the Sigma Tau Delta Short Fiction Slam in Kearney, NE.

Rick earns 2nd runner-up in the Sigma Tau Delta Poetry Slam in Kearney, NE.

April

Rick's poems "Spring Rebirth," "On the Eve of Graduation," and "Going Down" are published  by Blue House.

Rick gives a reading during the "Prayers for the People" performance at the Roger Merryman Performing Arts Center. The performance is recorded and broadcasted by NETV.

Rick gives a reading at the UNK Conference on Language and Literature in Thomas Hall on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

March

Rick's poem "Mechanic" is published  by Events Weekly.

Rick's poems "Pondering a Student Over Christmas  Break," "I Dream Mother," and "Final Thoughts From the Retirement Home" are published by Words-Myth.

Rick gives a Reynolds Series Reading for the Crane Migration Tribute Retreat at the Drake Theatre on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

February

Rick's Poem "Letter to Trey Anastasio" is published by Slow Trains Literary Journal.

Rick's poems "Confessions of the Sycamore," "Sledding," and "Mother and Babe (For Kina)" are published  by Blue House.

Rick performs in the Kearney City Poetry Slam.

Rick is the featured poet at the Nebraska State Reading Associations annual conference, and he gives a reading during the final night's activities.
